The Synthes Resident Program

The Synthes Resident Program provides structured education to support residents, fellows, and faculty at teaching hospitals throughout North America.  Surgical specialties include: Orthopaedic Trauma, Spine, Neurological Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Otolaryngology, Thoracic Surgery, and Podiatric Surgery.

The program is two-fold.  Online modules provide supplemental learning in preoperative planning, fracture review, and simulated surgical techniques along with presentations and courses authored by practicing surgeons.  Sawbones workshops allow participants to practice techniques using Synthes instruments and implants.

Additional resources include Primal Pictures 3D anatomy, technique guides, surgical videos, and vignettes on spine fellowship programs.  As an added benefit to participating in the learning modules and workshops, qualified residents can earn textbooks, board review materials, and anatomical bone models from the online Resident Store.
