Synthes Biomaterials: A wide spectrum of treatment choices

As advances are made in biomaterial technology, alternatives to conventional surgical treatment become more effective, hence more attractive. In an effort to provide better clinical outcomes for our patients, we strive to provide an entire spectrum of treatment choices. Benefits of our current biomaterials products support the main principles on which Synthes is founded: early return to function, faster bone healing, and less invasive surgery.
 
Today, Synthes biomaterials include a paste that can be used to fill bony defects; an implant for young children that resorbs after the body’s bones have healed; and demineralized human bone that promotes bone healing.
 
Synthes’ vision for future technology goes far.  The Biomaterials division is working on advanced technology to address a variety of important clinical needs.  Products, aimed toward providing faster healing and reducing complications, are in development.
