The Condylar Head Add-On System is designed to provide temporary reconstruction of the mandibular condyle in patients undergoing disarticulation resection of the mandible as part of ablative tumor surgery.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Condylar Head - maintains temporary function of the temporomandibular joint, offset in a medial direction for anatomically correct positioning of the implant and symmetrical design allows right or left condyle replacement
  • Fixation Plates - height adjustment allows optimal fit of the condylar head in the patient’s fossa, four different positions:  0 mm to 6 mm, in 2 mm increments, and labeled for identification of position height
  • Titanium Screw  - two screws are used to attach the condylar head and fixation plate to the 2.4 mm Locking Reconstruction Plate (LRP) and color-coded (gray) for identification
  • System attaches to lateral side of plate allowing easy removal

Indications

  • Temporary reconstruction of the mandibular condyle in patients undergoing ablative surgery requiring the removal of the mandibular condyle, limited to a maximum of two (2) years until final reconstruction can occur.
  • The Condylar Head Add-On System is not intended for permanent implantation, for patients with temporomandibular joint or traumatic injuries, or for treatment of temporomandibular joint disease (TMD).
