The BLP System is used for the anterior buttressing of bone graft, following single-level discectomies in the lumbosacral spine.
Key Features & Benefits
- Expansionhead screws lock to the plate creating a secure construct that prevents screws from backing out
- Converging screws entrap a wedge of bone for increased pull-out resistance
- Low-profile plate and screw design minimizes irritation of adjacent soft tissue and vasculature
- Expansionhead screws are inserted at a 12˚ downward angle to enhance the buttressing strength of the plate
- Three plate lengths (20 mm, 25 mm, 30 mm) accommodate variations in disk space and height
- Implants are made of commercially pure titanium to be MRI safe
- Precisely crafted instrumentation permits accurate and easy placement of implants
Indications
- This system is intended for anterior intravertebral body screw fixation/attachment to the L1-S1 spine over one vertebral body extending onto the adjacent intervertebral space.
- Due to variations in the anatomy, the plate is designed for applications caudal to the bifurcation of the great vessels.
- Specifically, the device is intended for stabilization and buttressing of bone graft over one motion segment following anterior structural reconstruction for degenerative disc disease.
