This anatomically contoured Locking Compression Plate (LCP) addresses complex fractures of the proximal femur by providing throughout the plate, the flexibility of both locking and conventional plating techniques. Combi holes in the limited-contact shaft also enable axial compression.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Stability of a fixed-angle construct with locking screws, while also offering standard compression plating with conventional screws
  • Superior fixation in osteopenic bone and stable bridging over badly comminuted fractures
  • Unique Combi holes in the shaft that allow both axial compression and the choice of locking or nonlocking screws at each screw hole
  • Plate lengths that allow spanning of the entire diaphysis in segmental fracture patterns
  • Improved preservation of blood supply to the bone, because fixation does not rely on plate/bone compression

Indications

  • Fractures of the trochanteric region, trochanteric simple, cervicotrochanteric, trochanterodiaphyseal, multifragmentary pertrochanteric, intertrochanteric, trochanteric reversed or transverse or with additional fracture of the medial cortex
  • Fractures of the proximal end of the femur combined with ipsilateral shaft fractures
  • Metastatic fracture of the proximal femur
  • Osteotomies of the proximal femur
  • Also for use in fixation of osteopenic bone and fixation of nonunions or malunions
